Hey Everyone!! I love a good hot chocolate. I mean, doesn’t everybody! With a little minty twist, this hot chocolate recipe is going to impress everyone at your Christmas party! I had so much fun cooking this at home and testing it out plenty of times, just to make the recipe so perfect for you! Enjoy!!
Place Cocoa Powder in saucepan. Make sure the saucepan is at a medium heat, something like 5 (ours goes up to 9)
Add milk to the cocoa powder in the saucepan. Make sure to leave the stove on the same heat. It will start to boil.
Stir to combine. The cocoa powder will sit almost like a layer on top of the milk. Don’t worry, all powders do this when mixed with Milk! Just keep on stirring, and it will combine.
Drop in your chocolate buttons! This is my favourite step (I mean come on, who doesn’t eat a sneaky few while cooking!), but not because of that. I love watching the chocolate melt!
Once again, stir to combine. In the photo above, on the spoon is some chocolate. This is the step where you need to be constantly stirring and watching it. The chocolate that is on the spoon above, is not melted properly, and this semi-melted chocolate usually hangs around the bottom of the pan. You need to watch this and keep stirring from the bottom up!
Drop in your peppermint essential oil! Make sure you only put one drop in, and then taste it. Remember, you can always add more in, but you can not take it back out. You can add more if you want a more minty flavour, or if you are making it in a bigger batch.
Pour the hot chocolate into your glass!!
